Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Seed

What It Does

Strawberry seeds have the optimal shape, size and hardness, making it the perfect non-abrasive exfoliant. Not all plant scrubs are compatible with both aqueous and anhydrous formulas, but Strawberry Exfoliant is. It's stability and semi-spherical shape make it an excellent addition to improve the texture and performance of any body or foot scrub. Strawberry Exfoliant is sterilized, which allows it to be used in cosmetics products. We test every lot of strawberry seeds for microbial growth, but do not routinely provide certificates of sterilization.

How It's Made

Strawberry pulp and puree are upcycled from the fruit juice industry. The seeds are isolated from the dried pulp before being sorted by size and sterilized to remove any microbial growth.

Ingredients marked with an asterisk can be purchased from any supplier. Prepare a double boiler with water in the bottom pan and add ingredients 1-5 to the top pan. Begin heating the mixture to 160ºF with light stirring. Gently stir the mixture until all the solids are dissolved and the mixture looks homogenous.

Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to naturally cool while stirring. Add ingredient 6. Once the temperature reaches 120ºF, stir in ingredients 7-10. This will create a pasty consistency. Gently mix it together with a spatula, folding over, until the scrub looks homogenous. Transfer into the desired container. Remix as needed to reincorporate any oils.
