Our Creamy Coconut Surfactant took months of research - it has the smallest free fatty acid range on the market, meaning less crystallization in your formulas.
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate
Create ultra-creamy, dense foam with this coconut-based cleanser. Use a little in any liquid cleanser, or a lot in any solid bar to get gentle cleansing with a luxurious, silky after feel. This anionic surfactant is hard water tolerant and will not leave a soap film or residue.
This surfactant should be used in conjunction with Shea Butter Surfactant in a liquid cleanser. It has poor water solubility and will crystallize back out if used alone.
Although our Creamy Coconut Surfactant is supplied in flake form, this product is known to have dust that can be an inhalation hazard. When working with any format of Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, work in an area with adequate ventilation and wear a particle mask to avoid inhalation.
Coconut oil undergoes chemical synthesis with Sodium Isethionate to form Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate.

Prepare a clean, sterilized double boiler with tap water in the bottom pan and add Deionized or Distilled Water to the top pan. Begin heating the mixture to 185ºF with light stirring. Begin adding Organic Glycerin and Shea Butter surfactant, gently stirring until homogenous.
Ensuring proper safety precautions are followed and protective equipment is being worn, weigh your Creamy Coconut Surfactant. Once temperature is 180-185ºF, slowly add it, stirring gently to avoid aeration. It will take time for this ingredient to dissolve.
Once dissolved, turn off heat and let product cool with gentle stirring. Once cool, add essential oil and Preservative PE with stirring.
