Marula Oil is a lightweight and silky oil, known for its high oleic acid content similar to that of olive oil. It comes from the marula tree, which bears fruit that has been harvested for centuries for medicinal, food, and cosmetic use. The fruit is used to simply eat or produce jams and wines, while the remaining kernels are cold-pressed to reveal this stunning oil that has a high affinity for skin and hair, making it a powerful addition to any product you're creating. We love that this oil can be used 100% neat on skin and hair to increase skin moisture or prevent hair breakage and improve hair shine. You can also blend it into your creation at any percent for that emollient touch.
The fruit falls to the ground and is collected. The flesh is used for food, but the discarded pit is full of kernels. The kernels are cold-pressed using simple processing techniques to release oil, which is further filtered to remove impurities. While this oil is not certified organic, the fruit is wild-harvested without the use of pesticides and no solvents are used in the processing.
Valerie has spent years researching the physiochemical properties of marula oil and has found our source to be of the highest quality and best oxidative stability - meaning, our Marula Oil has a naturally long shelf life without additives or additional processing techniques compared to other nut oils.

Ripe fruits are collected from the ground.
The meat of the fruit is used for food. The pit is cracked open and the kernels are removed.
The kernels are crushed to release the oil. Every kernel contains more than 55% oil

Ingredients with an asterisk can be purchased from any supplier.
Ensure all equipment is clean and sterilized, and that everything is completely dry before proceeding.
Add ingredients to the mixing bowl, one by one, stirring after each addition. When the mixture appears homogenous, pour into the bottle. Be careful not to fill the product all the way to the top - otherwise the bottle will overflow when inserting the dropper.
